And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Manuel!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manuel misses with a wild body shot.
A slow jab from Manuel misses its intended target.
Ramirez takes one to the chin there.
Ramirez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Manuel.
It looked like Ramirez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Manuel wants to clinch.
Manuel shoots in looking for a takedown. Ramirez tries to sprawl out of it but Manuel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ramirez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Manuel misses with a straight left.

Manuel closes the distance and clinches.

Ramirez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ramirez takes one to the chin there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manuel thows a leg kick but Ramirez checks it
and Ramirez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Manuel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Ramirez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at AK Beasties in the buildup to the fight.
A big left from Manuel misses.
Ramirez is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
A jab from Manuel misses.
Manuel shoots in for a double leg but Ramirez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ramirez goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Manuel keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ramirez.
Manuel throws a wild body kick that Ramirez sees coming a mile off.
It looked like Ramirez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Ramirez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Manuel. Manuel circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


Manuel is rocked!
Manuel misses with an uppercut
and Ramirez counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Manuel out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Ramirez is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Iker Ramirez!

A less than humble Iker Ramirez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
