Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeMarcus Ridley (ranked 5791 p4p, 540 weight class) and Paul Rabbitte (ranked 4715 p4p, 500 weight class). DeMarcus Ridley is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeMarcus Ridley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Rabbitte!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rabbitte darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Ridley kicks Rabbitte off and gets back to his feet.
Ridley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rabbitte is fending him off so far but Ridley persists. Nope, Rabbitte circles away and we're back to standing.

Rabbitte looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ridley tries to roll over but Rabbitte keeps him under control.
Rabbitte seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ridley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rabbitte is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ridley is just riding it out for now. Rabbitte eventually gives up the hold.

Rabbitte drops an elbow to the side of Ridley's head.
Rabbitte wants to control but Ridley is keeping him busy.
Ridley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rabbitte is working away from the top position though.
Ridley regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rabbitte.
Rabbitte has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ridley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rabbitte throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ridley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ridley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ridley tries to get out of the position.
Rabbitte wants to get up but he can't break Ridley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rabbitte wants to control from the top but Ridley keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Rabbitte looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ridley!

Rabbitte decides to stand back up. Rabbitte steps back and let's Ridley get back to his feet.

Rabbitte fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ridley to the ground. Rabbitte is now in Ridley's guard.

Rabbitte stands up over Ridley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Ridley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've been informed that Rabbitte has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Rabbitte is looking to stand up but Ridley won't let him.
Ridley is trying to control the position but Rabbitte postures up.
Rabbitte scoring with some ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Rabbitte fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ridley to the ground. Rabbitte is now in Ridley's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Rabbitte dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Ridley has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rabbitte.

Ridley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rabbitte napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ridley is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rabbitte's shoulder. That is not cool.

Rabbitte bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Rabbitte closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rabbitte lands in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rabbitte throws a big elbow that misses.
Rabbitte stands and throws Ridley's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ridley is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Ridley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rabbitte.
Ridley keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rabbitte has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ridley wants to get back to full guard.
Ridley won't allow Rabbitte to pass to mount.
Rabbitte thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rabbitte controlling the pace.
Rabbitte not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ridley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rabbitte scores with a couple of nice shots.
Rabbitte seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ridley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rabbitte fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ridley sprawls well initially but Rabbitte persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rabbitte is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rabbitte wants to take a breather but Ridley is having none of it.

Rabbitte passes to side control.

Rabbitte is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ridley has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rabbitte wants to control but Ridley is keeping him busy.
An elbow from Rabbitte crashes against the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rabbitte postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Rabbitte misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Rabbitte wants to control but Ridley is keeping him busy.
Paul Rabbitte has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rabbitte misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Rabbitte is trying to get an arm triangle but Ridley is defending well.

Rabbitte stands up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rabbitte blocks a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Rabbitte showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Rabbitte tries to stand and escape but Ridley is controlling the position.
Rabbitte working over Ridley with some ground and pound. Ridley looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rabbitte wants to stand but Ridley has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Rabbitte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ridley keeps working.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rabbitte passes the guard and advances to mount!
Ridley tries to lock up and control but Rabbitte gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rabbitte unloading with bombs!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rabbitte misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Rabbitte is landing with some decent strikes but Ridley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Ridley is rocked!
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Rabbitte! Ridley is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Paul Rabbitte!
