Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Lowery (ranked 4048 p4p, 416 weight class) and Axel Solomon (ranked 3463 p4p, 364 weight class). Solomon has chosen Beatdown as his entrance music. Alex Lowery had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Lowery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Axel Solomon!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Summer Carpenter and Ben Watson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lowery is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Solomon.
Alex Lowery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lowery misses with a straight right.
Lowery fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Solomon moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Solomon has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lowery is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lowery. Solomon does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lowery throws a hook but Solomon avoids it easily.
Lowery throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Solomon's waist but Solomon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lowery off to one side.
Lowery shoots in looking for a takedown but Solomon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lowery's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Lowery. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Solomon scores with a kick to the midsection.
Solomon's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lowery under the eye.

Solomon tries to sprawl but Lowery drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Solomon manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Lowery swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Solomon counters with a three punch combo that has Lowery backing up. Lowery nods at Solomon to acknowledge the strikes.
Lowery tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Solomon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nice body kick there by Solomon.
Solomon lands a slapping body shot.

Lowery shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Solomon is looking for the big counter here.
Solomon throws a front kick that sends Lowery stumbling back into the cage.
Axel Solomon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Solomon lands a head kick. Lowery smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Solomon connects with a solid leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lowery tries to clinch but Solomon moves out of range.

and Solomon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lowery is breathing heavily.
Lowery misses with a takedown attempt - Solomon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

A punch lands to the side of Lowery 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Solomon throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Solomon lands with a cross.
Solomon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Lowery is rocked!

Solomon has managed to clinch.
Oh Lowery is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Solomon lands a body shot.

Solomon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Solomon steps in with a hook that catches Lowery right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Solomon follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Lowery looks absolutely devastated.

An out of breath Axel Solomon thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
