The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Ryan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ryan went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt.
It looked like Ryan was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Ryan tries to work over Smith's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan scores with a shoulder strike.

Ryan lands with a left to the head.

It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Smith struggles to land a body shot inside as Ryan controls his hands.

Smith manages to break the clinch.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ryan fires out a quick counter leg kick but Smith just manages to avoid it.

Jimmy Ryan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Ryan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The crowd cheers as Smith lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ryan doesn't seem phased though.

and Ryan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ryan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ryan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Smith.
An attempted straight right counter from Ryan misses the target.
Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Smith lands a left and a right that send Ryan crashing to the mat, dazed. Smith thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Jimmy Ryan has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Ryan to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Ryan just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
