The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Barros shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
De Barros throws a looping overhand right but Lermontov ducks down to avoid it.
Lermontov misses with a looping right.
De Barros shoots in but no luck this time.
Lermontov looks like he wants to counter punch here.

and De Barros counters with a single leg into guard. Lermontov didn't expect that.
De Barros throws an elbow that misses. Lermontov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in De Barros's guard. Nice move by Lermontov!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

De Barros has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lermontov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

De Barros throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lermontov escapes and throws De Barros's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
De Barros tries to buck Lermontov off but Lermontov is having none of it.
De Barros has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Lermontov decides to stand back up. Lermontov steps back and let's De Barros get back to his feet.
De Barros swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

De Barros tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lermontov was well out of range. Poor timing from De Barros.
De Barros shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lermontov sprawls well. Lermontov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. De Barros gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernardo De Barros. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Barros takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Lermontov cracks De Barros with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
De Barros tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lermontov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It seemed like Lermontov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lermontov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

De Barros attempts a counter takedown but Lermontov avoids it well and moves away.

De Barros throws the left hand but Lermontov avoids the punch easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
De Barros tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lermontov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and De Barros connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lermontov scrambles back to his feet.
Lermontov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

De Barros gets a double leg takedown into Lermontov's guard.
De Barros pushes down on Lermontov's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lermontov is trying to stand.

De Barros wants to work for an arm triangle but Lermontov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

De Barros thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Lermontov has his hands clasped together around De Barros's back. He's all about the action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. De Barros connects with a nice short shot to Lermontov's temple.
De Barros has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
De Barros is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lermontov!
Lermontov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lermontov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

De Barros moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lermontov has worked his arm free - good work by Lermontov!

De Barros lying in Lermontov's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Lermontov decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! De Barros taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
