The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chamba pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

We've been hearing reports that Steel has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Steel shoots in looking for a takedown. Chamba tries to sprawl out of it but Steel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chamba manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Steel misses with an uppercut.
Steel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Chamba doesn't seem bothered though.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Steel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chamba napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Chamba felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Steel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Chamba is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Steel is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chamba can do anything to dispel that myth.

Chamba wants to control but Steel is having none of it.
Chamba is looking to improve his position but Steel isn't that keen on the idea.
Steel pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

It looks like Gilberto Chamba has been cut.

Steel is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Chamba can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
