Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Nordquist (ranked 1774 p4p, 186 weight class) and John Ramses (ranked 2174 p4p, 216 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Ramses!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramses misses with a wild combination.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ramses has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nordquist has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Ramses.
Ramses thuds a left hand into Nordquist's body.
Nordquist scores with a nice body kick.
Nordquist throws a head kick that misses.
Ramses swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nordquist.
Ramses connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nordquist throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nordquist throws a solid leg kick but Ramses takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Nordquist.
Ramses takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nordquist throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ramses sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A head kick misses from Nordquist.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Nordquist tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nordquist throws a sloppy head kick and Ramses moves out of range easily.
Ramses defending well as Nordquist loads up on a big left hand.
Nordquist rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ramses moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've been hearing reports that Nordquist has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Nordquist misses with a leg kick
letting Ramses counter with a right hand.

Ramses lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nordquist throws a head kick but Ramses moves out of range.
Ramses is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nordquist. Ramses does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ramses, as that shot connected.
Ramses connects with a leg kick. Nordquist looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Nordquist steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ramses. That one must have hurt.
Oh Nordquist is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nordquist is breathing heavily.
Ramses throws a pinpoint strike between Nordquist's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Nordquist crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Ramses scores a great knockout victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Ramses!
John Ramses decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
