The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thiago misses with an uppercut.
Thiago scores with a hook.

It looks like Markus Drotske has been cut.
Markus Drotske seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thiago blocks a jab.
Thiago throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Drotske shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Drotske looks winded!
Thiago cracks the inside of Drotske's front leg.
Drotske misses with a looping right.
Thiago pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Thiago lands with a nice body kick.
Drotske ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Drotske takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A combination from Drotske does no damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thiago drops Drotske with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Drotske looks back up at him and smiles so Thiago waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Thiago.
Thiago lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Thiago fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Drotske is out of range.
We've been told by Thiago's head coaches at Tosen's Home for Lost Boys that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Drotske scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Thiago scores with a kick to the midsection.
Thiago tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Drotske was well out of range. Poor timing from Thiago.
Drotske throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Thiago thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Drotske if he has to take too many more of those.
Thiago lands with a nice body punch.
Thiago loads up on a big right hand but Drotske slips the punch.

Thiago feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Drotske sprawling to the canvas! Drotske rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Thiago finish him?!

Drotske is rocked!
Drotske tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thiago throws a head kick but Drotske moves out of range.
Drotske finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Thiago measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Drotske! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
