Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Marlow (ranked 3789 p4p, 453 weight class) and Gustav Rinaldi (ranked 22553 p4p, 654 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marlow forces Rinaldi back against the cage and clinches.

Marlow wants the takedown. Rinaldi is fighting it off but Marlow persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rinaldi's guard against the cage.
Marlow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Marlow stands up and waves to Rinaldi to follow him.

Marlow decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rinaldi to his feet.
Marlow throws a push kick but Rinaldi slaps the foot to one side.

Marlow is pushing down on Rinaldi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rinaldi is fighting to maintain full guard but Marlow has managed to sneak the leg through.

Marlow is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rinaldi sees it coming and defends easily.

Marlow decides to return to a standing position.
Marlow tries a head kick but it misses.
Rinaldi drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Marlow defends it well.

Marlow throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rinaldi was covering up waiting for the punch and Marlow finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Marlow shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marlow showed some decent athleticism there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Marlow remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
