The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Misty lands a nice leg kick that just misses Pekkarinen's sensitive parts.
Misty throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Pekkarinen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pekkarinen is pushing down on Misty's leg trying to pass to half guard. Misty is fighting to maintain full guard but Pekkarinen has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pekkarinen is looking for a kimura but Misty is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pekkarinen to get the leverage.
Pekkarinen passes to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Misty wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Pekkarinen has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Misty's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Misty is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Pekkarinen!
