Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joost Van Buren (ranked 575 p4p, 93 weight class) and Sol Kwon (ranked 1611 p4p, 242 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sol Kwon!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kwon throws a lazy body kick
and Van Buren counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Sol Kwon has been cut.
Van Buren throws a low kick but Kwon moves out of range easily.
Kwon takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Van Buren misses with an uppercut
letting Kwon counter with a right hand.
Kwon thows a left - swing and a miss!
Van Buren throws a head kick that misses.
Kwon slips under a jab.
Van Buren moves out of range as Kwon strikes.
Van Buren lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Van Buren uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kwon.

and Kwon counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Van Buren ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kwon moves away.
Van Buren throws an off balance right hand
and Kwon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Van Buren lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Buren thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kwon if he has to take too many more of those.
Van Buren has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

letting Kwon counter with a right hand.
Kwon throws the left hand but Van Buren avoids the punch easily.
Van Buren ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Van Buren misses with a low kick.
Kwon misses with a hook.
Kwon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Van Buren was well out of range. Poor timing from Kwon.
Kwon with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Van Buren to score with a decent uppercut.
Kwon throws an overhand right that lands on Van Buren's shoulder, as Van Buren tries to avoid the shot.
Kwon throws a head kick that misses.
Van Buren throws a predictable looking body shot
letting Kwon counter with a right hand.
Kwon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Van Buren lands the left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Van Buren scores with a jab. Kwon acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Van Buren catches Kwon with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kwon is rocked!
Van Buren feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Kwon collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!
