Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Royal Pain (ranked 994 p4p, 121 weight class) and Steve Sanchez (ranked 1118 p4p, 137 weight class). Pain comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC Thunderstruck. Sanchez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Where is My Mind? by Pixies. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royal Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Pain closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sanchez circles away.
Pain tries to clinch but Sanchez is having none of it.
Sanchez connects with a body shot that sends Pain's belly button to the back.

Pain pushes Sanchez up against the cage in a clinch.
Sanchez comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Sanchez prevents Pain from breaking the clinch.
Sanchez scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Pain takes a shot to the head.
Pain tries to work over Sanchez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Pain has a couple of punches blocked by Sanchez.
Pain goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Pain tries to pull guard but Sanchez forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Pain breaks from the clinch.
Sanchez lunges at Pain with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pain's hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanchez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pain looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sanchez ducks under a wild hook from Pain.
Sanchez takes one to the side of the head.
Pain gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sanchez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royal Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez looks to land a left hand but Pain moved out of range nicely.
Pain throws a body punch but Sanchez moves out of range.
Pain thuds his right hand into Sanchez's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sanchez connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pain's hands.
Pain misses with a takedown
and Sanchez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sanchez connects with a single shot there.


Pain is rocked!
Pain tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sanchez is able to avoid easily.
Pain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pain dives in for a single leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Pain fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sanchez looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Pain is looking to clinch but Sanchez is avoiding it.
Steve Sanchez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pain tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pain looks to land a right hand but Sanchez moved out of range.
Pain uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sanchez.
Pain shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sanchez counters with a crisp right hand that drops Pain! Sanchez lets Pain back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Oh Pain is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pain shoots and misses
and Sanchez counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Royal Pain was interviewed post fight and said 'Shit, there goes my chance to be like Mike.'.
