PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maki Pulu (ranked 1915 p4p, 232 weight class) and Joe Jordan (ranked 2305 p4p, 258 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pulu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Alive. Joe Jordan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jordan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Pulu is out of range and Jordan settles back down.
Pulu cracks Jordan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jordan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pulu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jordan takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Pulu closes the distance and clinches.
Pulu misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Jordan working aggressively here.
Jordan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Pulu struggles to land a body shot inside as Jordan controls his hands.
Jordan scores with a shot to the side of Pulu's head.
Jordan misses with the head strike.
Pulu tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Pulu has a couple of punches blocked by Jordan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jordan fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Pulu working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Jordan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jordan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Pulu turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Jordan tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Jordan tries to improve his position but Pulu has taken his back! Pulu has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Jordan tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Pulu pushes Jordan away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
