PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lakoj Dresden (ranked 781 p4p, 126 weight class) and Pierre Joseph Proudhon (ranked 780 p4p, 125 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Proudhon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dresden tries to move into range but Proudhon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Proudhon connects with a body shot that sends Dresden's belly button to the back.

Dresden dives in for a single leg takedown but Proudhon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Dresden shoots for a double leg takedown but Proudhon sprawls well. He's pushed Dresden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dresden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Proudhon's coach down at Ryōzanpaku Dojo was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Proudhon's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Proudhon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dresden.

Proudhon has a couple of punches blocked by Dresden.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Proudhon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Proudhon cracks Dresden with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Proudhon's corner calls for a 1-2. Proudhon obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Dresden looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Oooooh!!! Proudhon has knocked Dresden down with a huge combo! Proudhon steps away and waves a wobbly Dresden back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Proudhon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Oh Dresden is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dresden needs to keep his hands up - Proudhon had a free shot at his head there.

Proudhon feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Dresden sprawling to the canvas! Dresden rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Proudhon finish him?!
Proudhon drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Dresden right on the button. Dresden goes down! Proudhon follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Proudhon gets the win via TKO!
