Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Rodriguez (ranked 992 p4p, 121 weight class) and Buakaw Banchamek (ranked 4164 p4p, 424 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banchamek tries a head kick but it misses.
Rodriguez blocks a head kick by Banchamek.
An inside leg kick lands from Banchamek.
Rodriguez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Banchamek misses with a head kick.
Rodriguez throwing a counter right hand but Banchamek manages to avoid it.
Banchamek gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Rodriguez counters with a solid body kick.
Rodriguez throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Banchamek misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Banchamek has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Banchamek takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Banchamek looks winded!
Banchamek takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Banchamek takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rodriguez scores with a leg kick.

Oooooh!!! Rodriguez has knocked Banchamek down with a huge combo! Rodriguez steps away and waves a wobbly Banchamek back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Buakaw Banchamek has been cut.
Rodriguez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mary Gracies Jiu Jitsu in the buildup to the fight.
Rodriguez drops Banchamek with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Banchamek! Rodriguez dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
