PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Marley (ranked 4134 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kasa Panos (ranked 3713 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Marley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kasa Panos!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panos connects with the punch.
A punch combination from Panos misses.
Panos bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Marley's head.
Good exchange - Panos coming out on top.
Panos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Marley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Panos counters with a stiff right hand.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Panos, right into the meat.
Marley shoots in looking for a takedown. Panos tries to sprawl out of it but Marley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Panos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Marley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Panos uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Marley fails with a takedown attempt.
Panos connects with a good right hand that stumbles Marley. Marley circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Panos feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Marley sprawling to the canvas! Marley rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Panos finish him?!


Marley is rocked!

Marley decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Oh Marley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Panos is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marley's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marley's back!
I would not like to be Marley right now.
Marley seems to have got his legs back now.
Marley wants to control his opponent's hands but Panos gets his hands free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Good control from Panos.
Panos not allowing Marley to control his hands.
Panos landing with strikes.
Panos slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Marley tries to escape but Panos has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Marley is breathing heavily.
Panos just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Panos is hanging on to Marley's back as he tries to escape.
Even with his hooks in, Panos manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Marley is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Panos.
Panos controlling well, preventing Marley from escaping the position.
Panos biding his time, controlling Marley.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marley definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Marley rolls, trying to escape but Panos keeps control of the position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Panos is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Panos gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Panos gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Panos apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Panos lands with a hook. Marley tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Eric Marley has been cut.
Marley has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Panos finds it's way round the side to connect with Marley's head.

Panos drops Marley with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Marley looks back up at him and smiles so Panos waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kasa Panos dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Eric Marley's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Panos steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Marley is out on his feet! Panos sets himself and nearly takes Marley's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kasa Panos!
Kasa Panos was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
