Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Steffen Baier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Henry Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Baier.

Baier closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wallace to the mat! Wallace manages to get full guard.
Baier preventing the sweep.
Baier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wallace swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Baier trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Baier pushing down on Wallace's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Wallace is looking for a sweep. Baier is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Wallace is trying to control but can't.
Baier has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Baier wants to control the pace but Wallace is squirming around nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baier has control of Wallace's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wallace regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Wallace wants to control but Baier is having none of it.
Wallace felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Wallace prevents Baier from taking his back.
Wallace is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Baier has hold of Wallace's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wallace manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wallace is squirming around, avoiding Baier's attempts to control the action.
Wallace can't escape the position.
Baier forces the positional change into back control.

Baier looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Wallace taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Steffen Baier!
A relieved looking Steffen Baier thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
