The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pope can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pope looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Thomas tries to move to mount but Pope blocks the move with his legs.
Thomas controls the position from side control.
Thomas is working to tighten his grip on Pope's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pope has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Thomas is really squeezing tight and eventually Pope passes out! Thomas breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Jumping up and down and very excited, Mike Thomas waved his t-shirt featuring Ma Balls Is Hot Clothing's logo in front of the cameras.
Robo Pope was interviewed post fight and said 'I hope to be the first MMA fighter to die in the ring. Help make my dream come true.'.
