Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Average (ranked 1273 p4p, 210 weight class) and Louie DeBrusk (ranked 4230 p4p, 490 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Average!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Louie DeBrusk!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Average looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? DeBrusk is fending him off so far but Average persists. Nope, DeBrusk circles away and we're back to standing.
We've been hearing reports that Average has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
DeBrusk cracks Average with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Average.
DeBrusk pushes Average away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Average gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Average staying calm.

Average is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, DeBrusk has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DeBrusk is pushing Average's head away, looking to escape. Average manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Average is trying to get an arm triangle but DeBrusk is defending well.
DeBrusk is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Average cracks DeBrusk with a big right hand but DeBrusk just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

DeBrusk sneaks out the side door and pushes Average away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
DeBrusk throws a low kick, looking for Average's leg but Average calmly moves out of range.
Average walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
DeBrusk fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
DeBrusk fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Average.
Average with a poor takedown
and DeBrusk counters with a leg kick.

DeBrusk gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
DeBrusk wants to stand up but Average is controlling him.
Average tries to free his leg and advance position but DeBrusk is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Average pushes down on DeBrusk's leg and manages to get into half guard.

DeBrusk has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Average is on him like a limpet, forcing DeBrusk back against the cage.
DeBrusk lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Average is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Average changes levels and goes for a takedown here. DeBrusk fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Average. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice shot by DeBrusk.
DeBrusk avoids the head kick by Average.
DeBrusk scores with a jab. Average acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Average dives in for a single leg takedown but DeBrusk sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Average with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling DeBrusk to score with a decent uppercut.


Average is rocked!
Average ducks into an uppercut from DeBrusk and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Louie DeBrusk!
After winning the bout, Louie DeBrusk thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
