PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Hadley (ranked 25216 p4p, 455 weight class) and Azer Omerika (ranked 25367 p4p, 436 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Azer Omerika!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Omerika darts in and clinches Hadley up against the cage.
Omerika looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Hadley digs a right hand into Omerika's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Omerika's gas tank.
Hadley is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hadley throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Omerika tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hadley is in Omerika's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hadley seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Omerika for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hadley looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Hadley decides to stand up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hadley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Omerika manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hadley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hadley rushes Omerika and presses him up against the cage.

Hadley ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hadley no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hadley has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Omerika looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Hadley has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Omerika is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Omerika has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Hadley has hold of one of Omerika's legs. Omerika is fighting the takedown attempt but Hadley gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Hadley slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hadley stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hadley get's back to his feet.
Hadley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alex Hadley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hadley throws a body shot but no joy.
Omerika is looking for the big counter here.

Hadley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hadley stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Hadley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Omerika to the ground. Hadley is now in Omerika's guard.
Omerika wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hadley manages to pass to side control.

Hadley gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Hadley has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hadley jumps into guard, dragging Omerika to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hadley pulls Omerika in close to prevent any damage.
Hadley continues to stall.
Alex Hadley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Omerika wants to get back to his feet.

Still in half guard, Hadley seems content to control.
Hadley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Omerika can do to turn this around?

This is a sustained period of stalling by Hadley.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hadley is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Omerika looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hadley gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Omerika is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hadley lets go of the hold and Omerika can pop his arm back in it's socket.
