The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega throws a shot from downtown. Martinez moves away and avoids it.
Ortega tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Martinez swivels and escapes.
Martinez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ortega's guard.
Ortega has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Martinez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Martinez is posturing up here but Ortega has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Martinez tries to roll out but it's too tight and Martinez has to tap! Slick submission there by Ortega!
