Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charley Hanagan (ranked 2777 p4p, 381 weight class) and James Adams (ranked 2016 p4p, 303 weight class). Hanagan's entrance music is Guilty Until Proven Innocent. A fine choice. Adams has chosen Thom Pace - Maybe as his entrance music. James Adams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charley Hanagan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Adams!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams darts in and clinches Hanagan up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Adams misses with a hook from the clinch.
Hanagan swings wildly with an uppercut but Adams uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hanagan struggles to land a body shot inside as Adams controls his hands.
Adams lands with a light punch inside.
Adams is pressed up against the cage. Hanagan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Adams down to the mat. Adams avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Adams closes the distance and clinches.
Adams lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hanagan backwards.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adams takes a shot to the head.

Hanagan tightens his grip and picks Adams up, before dumping him to the ground. Adams manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Adams wants to hit a switch here but Hanagan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Adams there!
Adams bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Hanagan is trying to control the position but Adams postures up.
Hanagan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Adams's guard.

Adams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hanagan is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanagan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hanagan is working hard here to advance position.

Hanagan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hanagan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Adams has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Hanagan stuns Adams with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Hanagan is looking for a triangle but Adams pushes his legs off easily.

Hanagan is trying to keep Adams in close.
Adams is working Hanagan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Adams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hanagan is looking for a triangle but Adams pushes his legs off easily.
Adams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Adams stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Hanagan has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Adams manages to get his head free but now Hanagan has transitioned to an armbar! Adams grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Hanagan! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Charley Hanagan!
