Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sampson Shain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Solomon Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shain clinches with his opponent.
Shain misses with a punch to the body.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Shain obliges.
Shain misses with a knee strike.
Shain scores with a knee to the head.
Wilson pushes off an throws an elbow but Shain leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Shain misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Wilson blocks an elbow strike.
Shain makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Shain swings wildly with an uppercut but Wilson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Wilson breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson moves to clinch but Shain breaks away
and Wilson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Shain forces Wilson back against the cage and clinches.
Wilson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wilson lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Sampson Shain has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wilson blocks an elbow strike from Shain.
Our sources have told us that Shain has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Wilson takes a shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shain throws a head punch that misses.
Shain misses with the head strike.
Wilson lands a knee to the head.

Wilson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wilson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Solomon Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shain takes a swing at Wilson's ribcage but misses.
Wilson looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Wilson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Shain is out of range.

Shain clinches up with Wilson and pushes him back against the cage.
Shain blocks the elbow strike.
Shain misses with some punches.
Wilson managing to block the knees to the body from Shain.
Shain trying to land knees to the body.
Shain fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Shain misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wilson.

Wilson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wilson manages to end up in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wilson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wilson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Wilson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shain, who protects the arm well.

Wilson swings around for an armbar but Shain sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Wilson's guard.
Shain wants to pass the guard but Wilson is keeping the position.
Wilson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shain is one step ahead there.

Shain gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wilson moves out of range of the body kick.
Shain ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Wilson connects with an inside leg kick.
Shain ducks under a wild hook from Wilson.
Wilson has a takedown stuffed.
Shain looks to score with a jab to the body but Wilson is just out of range.
Shain scores with a hook to the body. Wilson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wilson misses with an uppercut.
Shain tries to score with a low kick but Wilson moves his leg out of the way.

Shain gets caught napping as Wilson dives in and scores a takedown. Shain manages to retain guard.
Wilson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wilson is looking to work some ground and pound but Shain has wrist control.
Wilson passes into half guard.

Wilson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Shain defend it? Wilson steps over the head and cranks it - Shain is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Wilson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Solomon Wilson!
Solomon Wilson seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
