PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Stallone (ranked 3207 p4p, 270 weight class) and Dimitar Stoichkov (ranked 23183 p4p, 472 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Stallone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dimitar Stoichkov!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoichkov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Stallone has closed the distance and engaged Stoichkov in a clinch.
Stallone tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stoichkov smiles and moves away.
Stoichkov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stallone.
Stallone fails in his attempt to clinch.
Stallone uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stoichkov.
Stoichkov looks to land a combination but Stallone avoids it well.
Stallone ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Stoichkov throws an off balance right hand

and Stallone counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Stallone passes to full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stallone controlling the position easily from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stoichkov is in a horrible position here. Stallone smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Stallone is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Stoichkov instigates a clinch.
Stallone is trying to drag Stoichkov to the mat but Stoichkov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stallone is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Stoichkov is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Stallone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stallone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stoichkov walks away with a smile on his face. Stallone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Stallone dodges the punch combination from Stoichkov.
Stoichkov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Stallone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stoichkov leaves Stallone with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stoichkov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stoichkov throws a counter combo.
Stallone tries for a takedown but Stoichkov circles away easily
and Stoichkov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stallone looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stallone gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Stoichkov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Stallone on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Stallone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stallone lands in his opponent's guard.
Stallone engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stallone has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Stallone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stoichkov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stallone passes Stoichkov's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dimitar Stoichkov will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Stoichkov dips to his left and cracks Stallone with an uppercut!
Stallone has his takedown stuffed
and Stoichkov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stoichkov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Stallone looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Stoichkov!
Stoichkov being controlled for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stallone has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Stallone working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Stoichkov turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Stallone off and cradles Stoichkov's limp body as Stallone celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Frank Stallone!
Frank Stallone very nearly forgot to thank King Nutrition amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
