Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raul Salvatierra (ranked 2238 p4p, 82 weight class) and Edwin Lucan (ranked 2666 p4p, 94 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucan misses with a double jab
and Salvatierra counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Edwin Lucan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lucan throws a combination that misses
and Salvatierra counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lucan thinking.
Salvatierra goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Edwin Lucan has been cut.
The crowd cheers as Lucan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Salvatierra doesn't seem phased though.
Salvatierra dodges the punch combination from Lucan.
Salvatierra throws a quick counter head kick but Lucan was just out of range.
Lucan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Salvatierra counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lucan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Salvatierra defends well and Lucan ends up having to push Salvatierra into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Salvatierra looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Lucan throws a right hand that misses
and Salvatierra counters with an outside leg kick.
Lucan takes one on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lucan's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lucan duly obliges.
It looks like Raul Salvatierra has been cut.
Lucan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Salvatierra.
Lucan misses with a takedown attempt
and Salvatierra counters with an inside leg kick.
Raul Salvatierra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edwin Lucan.

enabling Salvatierra to counter with a crisp jab.
Lucan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Salvatierra throws a quick counter kick to the body but Lucan avoids it.
Lucan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Salvatierra counters with a big right hand! Oh Lucan is in trouble here! Salvatierra follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
