PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Scott Columbus (ranked 17628 p4p, 226 weight class) and Deacon Frost (ranked 2421 p4p, 90 weight class). Columbus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Blood Of The Kings. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Scott Columbus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deacon Frost!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Columbus 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Columbus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Columbus swats away the attempt to clinch by Frost.
Frost cracks Columbus with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Scott Columbus has been cut.

Frost has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Columbus stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

I was talking to Columbus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Frost lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well Frost has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
