Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demi Calhassan (ranked 3717 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Reem (ranked 8063 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alistair Reem!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Calhassan.
Calhassan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Calhassan throws a combination that misses
and Reem counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A clash of legs there as Calhassan blocks the low kick.
Reem avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reem throws a shot to the body.
Calhassan wants to clinch.
Reem should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Calhassan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reem paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

As Reem looks to move away, Calhassan throws a big counter combo but Reem just gets out of the way.

and Reem connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Calhassan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Reem throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Calhassan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Reem avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Reem! But no joy.
Reem might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Calhassan lands a big right hand that sends Reem crashing to the mat! Calhassan stays standing though and waves Reem back to his feet!


Reem is rocked!


It looks like Alistair Reem has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Calhassan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Calhassan misses with a straight right.
Reem appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Reem has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Calhassan throws a jab when Reem was well out of range.
Reem throws out a loose jab but Calhassan uses good head movement to avoid it.

Calhassan rushes Reem and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Reem wants to break the clinch but can't.
Calhassan prevents Reem from breaking the clinch.

Calhassan trying to control the position but instead, Reem has worked for underhooks and has pushed Calhassan into the cage.

Calhassan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Calhassan fails with an attempt to clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Reem! But no joy.
Reem lands with a shot to the body.
Reem is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Calhassan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Reem counters with a nice uppercut.

A little jabbing left from Reem on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Calhassan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Calhassan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Calhassan drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Reem jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Reem tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Calhassan was well out of range. Poor timing from Reem.
Calhassan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Calhassan lands a head kick. Reem smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Reem throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Calhassan Throws a clean left jab. Calhassan Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Reem's chin! Reem crumbles to the ground and Calhassan follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Calhassan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Demi Calhassan!
