Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomomi Tsuruta (ranked 2330 p4p, 247 weight class) and Monte Zuma (ranked 1901 p4p, 210 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zuma connects with a crisp jab.

Tsuruta changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zuma looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Zuma drops back looking for a leg! Tsuruta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tsuruta manages to kick Zuma off! Zuma jumps back into Tsuruta's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Tomomi Tsuruta will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tsuruta is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zuma.

Tsuruta went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Zuma moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Tsuruta! Zuma continues to tee off on Tsuruta, landing with a left and a right! Zuma connects with a right hand that leaves Tsuruta sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Zuma!

Monte Zuma decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
