Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sambo Trambai (ranked 793 p4p, 125 weight class) and Nikos Giannopoulos (ranked 1550 p4p, 236 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sambo Trambai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikos Giannopoulos!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trambai takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Trambai lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Giannopoulos circles away quickly and effectively.
Giannopoulos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Trambai throws out the jab.
Giannopoulos misses with a looping right.
Trambai moves out of range of the strikes.
Trambai ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Giannopoulos lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Giannopoulos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Trambai is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Giannopoulos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Giannopoulos wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A jab lands there for Giannopoulos.
Trambai takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Trambai shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Giannopoulos eats them both and turns towards Trambai to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Trambai pivots, looking for a leg kick but Giannopoulos is out of range and Trambai settles back down.
Giannopoulos throws the left hand but Trambai avoids the punch easily.
Trambai half committed to a counter leg kick.
Trambai throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Giannopoulos on the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trambai has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Nikos Giannopoulos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Trambai takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Giannopoulos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trambai tries to avoid it but Giannopoulos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trambai to the ground. Trambai escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Giannopoulos goes for a double leg but Trambai avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Trambai continues to drive forward.

Giannopoulos bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Trambai's head.
Trambai stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Giannopoulos.

Giannopoulos pounces like a tiger and cracks Trambai with a vicious hook! Trambai is down but not out! Giannopoulos follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Nikos Giannopoulos!
Nikos Giannopoulos decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
