Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Wilson (ranked 2870 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonzela Franco (ranked 2482 p4p, 225 weight class). Franco is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Anti Heroi. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson drives through and clinches with Franco against the cage.
Wilson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Franco has Wilson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Franco pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wilson tumbling to the mat - Franco dives into Wilson's guard.
Wilson has his hands on Franco's head, controlling the position.
Franco wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.
Franco won't allow Wilson to get back to his feet.
Franco throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wilson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A punch lands to the side of Franco 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Franco tries to clinch but Wilson is having none of it.
Wilson tries to bum rush Franco with a series of wild strikes but Franco uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Franco is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wilson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Franco darts in looking for a takedown but Wilson gets double underhooks and turns Franco into the cage.
Franco doesn't manage to clinch there - Wilson circles away.

Wilson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Franco to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Wilson is controlling Franco's posture.
Wilson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Franco looking to sit in guard and control but Wilson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Franco thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Franco is trying to control the position but Wilson postures up.
Wilson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Franco has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wilson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Franco.
Franco is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wilson has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Franco is desperately trying to improve his position but Wilson has a good base and remains in mount.
Franco sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Franco is striking off his back. Wilson thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

Wilson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Franco is looking to stand back up but Wilson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Franco.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wilson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Franco wants to get back to his feet.
Franco tries to get to full guard but Wilson has control of the leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Franco flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Wilson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Franco is trying to control but Wilson passes into side control!

Franco tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wilson's elbow.
Franco misses with a hook to the ribs.
With the fighters up against the cage, Franco throws an elbow but misses.
Wilson lands a body punch in the clinch.

Franco seems to have recovered his senses.
Wilson creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Franco with a big uppercut! Franco tries to clinch up but Wilson pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Franco to the mat! Franco covers up and Wilson unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
