The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman tries to bum rush Bounty with a series of wild strikes but Bounty uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bateman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Bateman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bateman is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bounty's shoulder. That is not cool.
Bateman trying to control the action but Bounty is working from the bottom.
Bounty is trying to escape the position but Bateman is controlling the position.
Bounty is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bateman off and has taken his back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bounty throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bateman.

Bateman throws a lazy right hand but Bounty sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bateman, as that shot connected.

Bateman sizes up Bounty with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Bateman tries for a takedown but Bounty sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Bounty misses its target.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bateman.
Bounty tests Bateman's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Paddy Bateman has been cut.
Bateman shoots in and drives through. Bounty sprawls well.
Jamie Bounty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paddy Bateman.
Bounty looks to land a left hand but Bateman moved out of range nicely.

Bounty swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bounty throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Bounty tries to work over Bateman's front leg with a kick but Bateman checks it.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bounty. That's going to slow Bateman down.
Bounty uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bateman.

Bounty tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bounty darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

and Bounty counters with a good low kick that Bateman was not able to check.
Bateman drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bateman jabs Bounty right on the nose. Bounty blinks but takes it well.
Bateman catches Bounty with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bateman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bounty is just riding it out for now. Bateman eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
