Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Boortz (ranked 1981 p4p, 72 weight class) and Louie Matthews (ranked 4509 p4p, 180 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Matthews darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Mark Boortz has been cut.
Matthews misses with a hook.
Boortz has Matthews up against the cage in a clinch.
Matthews misses with a punch on the inside.
Boortz lands with a light punch inside.

Boortz lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Matthews backwards.
Boortz scores with a nice hook to the head.
Matthews looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Matthews tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boortz lands a right hand that snaps the head of Matthews backwards.
Boortz on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Matthews fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Matthews tries to throw a body punch but Boortz avoids it by throwing Matthews back against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Matthews tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Boortz lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Matthews has a couple of punches blocked by Boortz.
Boortz lands a left hand.
Boortz lands with a left to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Matthews.
Matthews fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Boortz manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Boortz throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Boortz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Matthews backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Matthews misses with a body punch.

Boortz manages to pull guard.
Boortz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matthews can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Matthews is sitting in close to Boortz's body. Boortz has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Matthews is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Matthews is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Boortz.
