PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gavin (ranked 244 p4p, 31 weight class) and Marat Magomedov (ranked 272 p4p, 34 weight class). Magomedov has chosen Persecution of the Masses as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Magomedov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gavin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gavin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Gavin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Magomedov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Gavin tried to counter with a leg kick but Magomedov avoided it.

Gavin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Good leg kick by Magomedov there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The fighters circling - Gavin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Magomedov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gavin's hands.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gavin circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Magomedov to the canvas! Magomedov doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Gavin keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
