Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Sobieski!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Sobieski.

Sobieski lands a high kick to the side of Da Lima 's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Sobieski dives into guard, looking to finish.


It looks like Lopes Garcia Jose Franco Da Lima has been cut.

Da Lima has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sobieski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sobieski has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Double XX. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Sobieski content to stall in guard here.

Sobieski's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
It looks like Sobieski might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Da Lima looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Da Lima might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sobieski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Da Lima is just riding it out for now. Sobieski eventually gives up the hold.
Sobieski is taking a breather. Da Lima says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Da Lima is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sobieski pulls his head out easily.
Sobieski works his way into full mount!
Da Lima working to try and regain half guard.
Sobieski moves to back control.

Sobieski sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Da Lima taps out!
