Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lynn Steinheiser (ranked 2980 p4p, 305 weight class) and Jon Horn (ranked 2615 p4p, 268 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lynn Steinheiser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Horn!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steinheiser shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Steinheiser showed some decent athleticism there.

Steinheiser is working for a kimura here but Horn manages to reverse the position and he's now in Steinheiser's guard.

Steinheiser looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Horn tries to stand but Steinheiser is controlling from the bottom.

Horn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horn is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Horn wants to stand and escape but Steinheiser is having none of it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steinheiser accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Horn can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Steinheiser looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Horn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Horn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Steinheiser half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Steinheiser shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Horn as he jumps to the side.
Steinheiser has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Horn finds it's way round the side to connect with Steinheiser's head.

Horn lands with a hook. Steinheiser tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Horn gets caught flat footed, as Steinheiser shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Horn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Horn is looking to stand up but Steinheiser isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steinheiser drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steinheiser jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Steinheiser is working Horn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Horn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Steinheiser lands a couple of elbows.
Horn is looking to stand up but Steinheiser isn't so interested in that idea.
Horn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steinheiser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Steinheiser is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Steinheiser lands a nice short elbow.
Steinheiser is nestled in close to Horn, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Horn pushes Steinheiser off looking to stand but Steinheiser dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Steinheiser tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Horn defends well and Steinheiser ends up having to push Horn into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Horn connects with a body shot that sends Steinheiser's belly button to the back.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Steinheiser.
Horn appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Horn lands a nice hook to Steinheiser's body. Steinheiser takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Horn scores with a head kick.
Horn moves into range and connects with a jab.
A right-left combo lands from Horn.
Jon Horn seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Steinheiser misses with a takedown attempt - Horn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Horn bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


Steinheiser is rocked!
Are you kidding me?! Horn ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Steinheiser clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
