The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a body punch but Salazar moves out of range.
Salazar steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Smith.

Smith walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Smith cracks a nice hook into Salazar's ribs.
Salazar has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Smith is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Salazar has time to react.


It looks like Michael Salazar has been cut.
Smith moves forwards but Salazar connects with a nice, crisp jab.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salazar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Smith throws a hook but Salazar avoids it easily.

and Smith makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
