The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sainty slips under a jab from Pugberg.
Pugberg throws the left hand but Sainty avoids the punch easily.
Sainty only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Sainty pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Pugberg half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Sainty gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sainty has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pugberg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sainty tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Pugberg tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Pugberg is trying to get an arm triangle but Sainty is defending well.
Sainty tries to buck Pugberg off but Pugberg is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Sainty's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pugberg goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sainty rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pugberg's guard! Nice work there by Sainty!

Pugberg is looking for a triangle but Sainty pushes his legs off easily.

Sainty wants to control from the top but Pugberg keeps moving.
Sainty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pugberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pugberg has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Pugberg is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sainty passes Pugberg's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Sainty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sainty is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Pugberg up.
