Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Richard Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Collin Minus!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Minus darts in and clinches Richards up against the cage.
Minus managing to block the knees to the body from Richards.
Minus blocks a body shot from Richards.
Richards tries to work over Minus's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Richards wants to take the fight to the mat but Minus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Minus jumps guard but Richards stands there with Minus around his waist. Minus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Richards tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Minus avoids it.
Minus is trying to pull guard but Richards has him pressed against the cage.

Richards has Minus pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Richards pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Minus tumbling to the mat - Richards dives into Minus's guard.
Richards wants to control from the top but Minus keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Richards throwing strikes but missing.

Richards thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Richards trying to control the position from guard on top but Minus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Minus can do anything to dispel that myth.
Minus can't keep his opponent in guard - Richards advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Minus has a hand on Richards's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Richards takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Richards avoids the attempt from Minus to control.

Richards is working for a guillotine from mount but Minus frees his head quite easily.

Richards is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Minus has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Minus!
Richards is trying to control the position but Minus postures up.

Minus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Richards has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Minus has managed to get both his arms back between Richards's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Minus controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Minus avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Richards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Minus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Minus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Minus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Richards swivels and escapes.

Minus gets caught flat footed, as Richards shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Richards pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Minus is keeping the position for now.

Richards drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Richards jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Richards drops back, looking for a kneebar! Minus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Minus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Minus!

Richards definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Minus tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You can see the frustration on Richards's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Minus is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Richards is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Richards tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Minus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Richards can't do much from the bottom here.
Minus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Richards keeps working.
Richards is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Minus can do to turn this around?
Minus in side control, throwing shots but Richards defends.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Richards is trying to control Minus's posture but Minus avoids it.
Minus lands a few punches from side control.
Minus wants to stand but Richards is controlling his arm.
Richards is trying to improve his position.
Richard Richards overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Richards can't do much from the bottom here.
Minus tries to stand but Richards is controlling his head.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Richards takes the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Richards.
Richards tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Minus's elbow.
Richards tries to score a body lock takedown but Minus shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Minus drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Richards accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Richards controls from within his opponent's guard.
Richards postures up.

Richards lands a couple of digs.
Minus is trying to hold Richards in close to prevent damage but Richards has managed to pass into half guard.
Minus controlling the position for now.
Minus is in trouble now - Richards has advanced to mount!
Richards wants to control the pace but Minus is squirming around nicely.
Minus is looking to improve his position but Richards isn't that keen on the idea.

Minus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Richards tries to control but Minus wriggling away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Richard Richards will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Minus closes the distance and clinches up with Richards, looking for a takedown. Minus pushes Richards against the cage but Richards circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Richards is looking to counter the offense by Minus and move into the clinch.
Minus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Richards pinned against the cage. Richards gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Minus staying out of range there.

Minus moves into the clinch.

Richards tries a body shot but Minus blocks it.
Richards looks to throw an elbow but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Minus managing to block the knees to the body from Richards.
Minus is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Minus is trying to drag Richards to the mat but Richards just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Richards wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Minus, who protects the arm well.

Richards has control of Minus's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Minus regains control of the situation pretty easily.
