Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Therion - Sitra Ahra kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Connor MacLeod has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MacLeod fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Smith to the ground. MacLeod is now in Smith's guard.
Smith wants to get back to his feet but MacLeod passes into half guard.

MacLeod is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

MacLeod is looking for submissions but instead, Smith has regained full guard.
MacLeod forces his way into half guard.
MacLeod trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
MacLeod wants to pass the guard but Smith is defending well.
MacLeod takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

MacLeod is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smith defends it well.

MacLeod is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Smith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

MacLeod is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
MacLeod wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.

MacLeod has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Smith defend it? MacLeod steps over the head and cranks it - Smith is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for MacLeod!
