Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cavey Beaumont (ranked 1400 p4p, 61 weight class) and Ji Lu (ranked 1427 p4p, 65 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lu takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lu is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A head kick misses from Lu.
Beaumont cracks Lu with a good jab.
Lu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lu there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Ji Lu has been cut.
Lu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Beaumont swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lu.

Lu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No joy there for Lu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fight stays on the outside here - Beaumont looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Beaumont throws a right and a left that Lu avoids nicely.

Beaumont throws a body shot but no joy.

Lu is trying to pull guard but Beaumont turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
I was talking to Beaumont's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Beaumont is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Lu pushes off an throws an elbow but Beaumont leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Beaumont tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lu avoids it.

A less than humble Cavey Beaumont misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
