Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tuccio Turturro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tomas McCall!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCall tries to close the distance and clinch but Turturro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Turturro tries to counter with a takedown but McCall is quick to defend against it.
Tomas McCall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from McCall as Turturro shoots in.
McCall tries to clinch up.
McCall has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Turturro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCall tries to avoid it but Turturro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCall to the ground. McCall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Turturro jumps guard and drags McCall to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

McCall sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Turturro's guard.

McCall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turturro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McCall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McCall is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Turturro has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
McCall doesn't have the hooks in and Turturro manages to turn into his guard.

McCall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Turturro wants to control from the top but McCall keeps moving.

McCall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Turturro is one step ahead there.

Turturro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Turturro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Turturro stands and throws McCall's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Turturro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Turturro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McCall knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

McCall tries to lock up and control but Turturro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tuccio Turturro will probably get the nod.
