PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Sturd Jr (ranked 520 p4p, 65 weight class) and Peter Parker (ranked 560 p4p, 71 weight class). Sturd Jr comes to the cage accompanied by Waka Flocka Flame - 50K (Neon Dreams Remix). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Sturd Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Parker!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Parker.

Sturd Jr walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Parker lands with a nice body punch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
That kick from Sturd Jr tenderised Parker's leg. Parker is trying to keep his angry face on.
Parker looks to land a left hand but Sturd Jr moved out of range nicely.

Sturd Jr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sturd Jr lands in his opponent's guard.

Sturd Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like Jason Sturd Jr has been cut.
Parker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sturd Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Parker's coach down at Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Parker's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Peter Parker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sturd Jr lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Parker fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sturd Jr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

I've got Parker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Peter Parker rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
