Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Argat Khan (ranked 1094 p4p, 147 weight class) and Mario Jones (ranked 2248 p4p, 265 weight class). Jones has chosen Quando Quando Quando as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones scores with a jab to the head.
Khan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Jones avoids the head kick by Khan.
Jones lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Khan blocks a head kick by Jones.
Khan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A slow jab from Khan misses its intended target.
Khan avoids the head kick by Jones.
A slapping leg kick lands for Jones.
Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Khan is looking for a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones digs a good body shot into Khan's ribs.
Khan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Khan was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mario Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Khan doesn't seem bothered though.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It looked like Khan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Khan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Shark Tank MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Jones lands a jab.
Khan swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.

enabling Khan to counter with a crisp jab.

Jones moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones swings wildly with an uppercut but Khan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Khan managing to block the knees to the body from Jones.
Khan softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Jones tries to land knees in the clinch but Khan avoids the damage to the body.

Khan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Khan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.

Khan lands a nice hook to Jones's body. Jones takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Khan throws a counter high kick but Jones was just alert enough to avoid it.
Khan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jones has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

It looked like Khan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Khan is looking to chop away at Jones's legs.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jones feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Khan's calf.
Jones on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Khan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Khan looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Khan stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken.

Jones is rocked!

It looks like Mario Jones has been cut.
Khan finds Jones's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Jones flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Khan lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Jones will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Argat Khan!
After winning the bout, Argat Khan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
