PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Three Dog (ranked 179 p4p, 27 weight class) and Connor MacLeod (ranked 1406 p4p, 218 weight class). Dog comes to the cage accompanied by Fallout. Three Dog had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Three Dog!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor MacLeod!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog misses with a body shot.

MacLeod shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

MacLeod is working for a kimura but Dog is defending it quite comfortably.
Still in half guard, MacLeod seems content to control.

Dog is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but MacLeod pulls his head out easily.
MacLeod wants to pass to mount but Dog is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
MacLeod is still trying to improve position.
Dog slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Dog had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. MacLeod defends it easily.
MacLeod is stalling in the full guard.
MacLeod trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
MacLeod passes easily into side control. Nice work.
MacLeod wants to control but Dog is keeping him busy.
Dog trying to remain calm as MacLeod controls from the top position.

MacLeod is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dog has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dog is trying to control MacLeod's posture but MacLeod avoids it.
MacLeod slows the pace down.

MacLeod tries for a kimura but Dog is defending well.

Dog is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dog wants to control but MacLeod postures up.
Dog is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MacLeod wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dog, who protects the arm well.
Dog is looking for a sweep.
MacLeod is looking to take a break and control but Dog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

MacLeod tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
MacLeod wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dog keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

MacLeod is trying to get an arm triangle but Dog is defending well.
MacLeod is looking to take a break and control but Dog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

MacLeod is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dog is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

MacLeod tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no MacLeod has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dog is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Connor MacLeod dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A punch lands to the side of Dog 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Dog looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
MacLeod walks into a jab.


It looks like Connor MacLeod has been cut.
MacLeod throws a low kick but Dog avoids it.
Dog moves forwards but MacLeod connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dog dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dog drops MacLeod with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but MacLeod looks back up at him and smiles so Dog waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
MacLeod rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dog moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dog was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
MacLeod misses with a double jab

and Dog counters with a nice right hand that sends MacLeod toppling to the canvas! MacLeod scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Dog finish him?!


MacLeod is rocked!

Dog pushes MacLeod up against the cage in a clinch.
MacLeod is trying to pull guard but Dog turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Dog lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Dog tries to work over MacLeod's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Dog lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down MacLeod.
MacLeod is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dog to keep the fight standing.

MacLeod is breathing heavily.
Dog scores with an uppercut up the middle.


That has opened up Connor MacLeod's cut even more.
Still in the clinch, Dog scores with a nice short uppercut.
MacLeod is still on wobbly legs! Can Dog finish him?
MacLeod blocks an uppercut.
MacLeod seems to have recovered his senses.
A right hook to the body lands for Dog.
Dog lands with a right to the head.
Dog lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops MacLeod to his knees! Dog keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Three Dog!
Three Dog retains his light heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Three Dog thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
