Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudi Dassler (ranked 483 p4p, 75 weight class) and Lucas Marston (ranked 330 p4p, 48 weight class). Marston is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bring it on motherfucker. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudi Dassler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucas Marston!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dassler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Marston counters with a low kick, right behind Dassler 's knee.
Marston rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Dassler counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Dassler drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Marston dives on top into guard.

Dassler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dassler seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Dassler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Marston moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Dassler.
Dassler tries to bench press Marston off him but Marston keeps the position.
Dassler is not content to let Marston control the position.
Dassler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marston wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dassler throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dassler is looking to reverse the position.
Dassler gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marston seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Dassler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marston's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marston's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rudi Dassler will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Donk. Marston catches Dassler right on the button with a cross.
Marston misses the jab.
Marston tries to bum rush Dassler with a series of wild strikes but Dassler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dassler appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Marston throws a lazy right hand but Dassler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Marston misses with a double jab

and Dassler counters with a nice double leg into side control. Marston won't be happy with that.

Dassler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Marston knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marston tries to control but Dassler manages to take his back.
Dassler somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
You can see the frustration on Marston's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Dassler is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

I really don't envy Marston right now.

Dassler is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Marston is defending well though. Dassler let's go of the attempt for now.

Dassler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Marston moves into full guard.

Marston has control of Dassler's left arm, preventing Dassler from doing any damage.

Dassler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marston looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marston looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marston!

Marston lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rudi Dassler will probably get the nod.

Marston falls off balance throwing a combination

and Dassler counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Dassler looks to land a strike but Marston avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Marston has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Marston lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Marston must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Marston seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Dassler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marston throws a big elbow that misses.

Dassler isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Marston stacks Dassler on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Marston!

Marston is looking for a kimura but Dassler is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marston to get the leverage.
Marston seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dassler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Marston takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
