Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Azize Bagdad (ranked 5799 p4p, 0 weight class) and Badr Houdoe (ranked 5830 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houdoe takes the fight into the clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Houdoe.
Houdoe shoots in looking for a takedown. Bagdad tries to sprawl out of it but Houdoe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bagdad manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Azize Bagdad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Badr Houdoe.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Houdoe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bagdad swivels and escapes.

Bagdad blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Bagdad is trying to trip Houdoe. He has hold of a leg but Houdoe is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Bagdad persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Houdoe uses the cage to get back to his feet.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Houdoe enables Bagdad to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Houdoe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Houdoe wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bagdad has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Houdoe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
It looked like Bagdad was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Houdoe.
Bagdad manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Houdoe on his heels. He'll look to pass Houdoe's guard now, I'm sure.
Houdoe wants to hit a switch here but Bagdad passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Houdoe there!

Houdoe wants to hold on but Bagdad pushes him away.
Bagdad really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Houdoe is wriggling around trying to escape.

Houdoe swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Bagdad avoids the attempt from Houdoe to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Houdoe wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bagdad.
Houdoe is trying to escape the mount.
Bagdad is trying to control here but Houdoe has managed to regain half guard.
Bagdad slows the pace down in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Azize Bagdad dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Bagdad scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Houdoe tries to buck Bagdad off but Bagdad is having none of it.
Houdoe regains half guard.
Houdoe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bagdad is working away from the top position though.
Houdoe might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bagdad haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bagdad knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Houdoe on the ground.

Houdoe has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bagdad doesn't defend quickly enough and Houdoe has managed to lock this one up! Can Bagdad escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Houdoe on a fantastic submission victory.
