PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Swagga Beats (ranked 5350 p4p, 400 weight class) and Kern Dignity (ranked 4938 p4p, 0 weight class). Dignity comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Party & Bullshit kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Swagga Beats has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Swagga Beats seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Swagga Beats!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kern Dignity!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beats shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dignity manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dignity controlling the position.
Beats looking to sit in guard and control but Dignity gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dignity engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
I've been told that Dignity has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.
Dignity postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beats wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Beats wants to sweep here but Dignity controlling him for the moment.

Beats bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dignity's guard.

Beats stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dignity swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dignity is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Beats stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dignity swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Beats throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dignity works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Beats pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dignity is keeping the position for now.
Beats has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Dignity pulls Beats in to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dignity lands an overhand right.
Beats shoots in and drives through. Dignity sprawls well.
Dignity stuffs the takedown attempt from Beats. Beats gets slowly back to his feet.
Dignity steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Beats.

Beats shoots in looking for a takedown but Dignity manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beats's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Swagga Beats. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Beats closes the distance and clinches up with Dignity, looking for a takedown. Beats pushes Dignity against the cage but Dignity circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Beats shoots in and drives through. Dignity sprawls well.
Dignity is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Dignity keeps the fight on the outside.

Beats closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dignity quickly recovers to half guard.
Beats is trying to control the action in half guard but Dignity is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dignity is doing well to control the position and prevent Beats from advancing to side control.
Beats with the ground and pound but Dignity uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Beats sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Beats is looking to pass into half guard but Dignity pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Dignity is in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beats is trying to keep Dignity in close.
Beats wants to sweep here but Dignity controlling him for the moment.
Beats looking to control.

Beats has his foot on Dignity's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dignity works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dignity avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dignity controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kern Dignity will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Beats tries to clinch but Dignity moves out of range.
Beats takes one to the chin there.
Beats misses with a takedown attempt - Dignity sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Beats sets himself, and Dignity steps forward looking for the clinch! Beats avoids it this time.
Swagga Beats is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Beats gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Dignity circles away from the clinch attempt.
Beats looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dignity is fending him off so far but Beats persists. Nope, Dignity circles away and we're back to standing.

Dignity connects with a right hand. Beats shakes it off.
Dignity has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dignity lands with a nice body punch.
Dignity lands a nice looking body shot.
Beats takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice cross by Dignity.
Dignity bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice takedown defense from Dignity. No joy for Beats on that attempt.

Dignity dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Dignity drops Beats with a beautiful combination! Beats stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dignity is looking for the KO!


Beats is rocked!
Dignity throws a pinpoint strike between Beats's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Beats crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Dignity scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kern Dignity!
A relieved looking Kern Dignity thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
