Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gamzat Gamzatov (ranked 4452 p4p, 574 weight class) and Benjamin Bronckhorsten (ranked 7104 p4p, 738 weight class). Gamzatov comes into the arena with Entrance Song blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Benjamin Bronckhorsten enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gamzat Gamzatov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Benjamin Bronckhorsten!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, John Mangel and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamzatov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bronckhorsten sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bronckhorsten stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bronckhorsten wants it to stay on the feet.
Bronckhorsten throws a counter combo.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bronckhorsten, as that shot connected.
Gamzatov misses with a takedown attempt
and Gamzatov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gamzat Gamzatov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gamzatov fails with a takedown attempt.
Bronckhorsten swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gamzatov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bronckhorsten throws a left and a right that both miss

and Gamzatov counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bronckhorsten!

Gamzatov tries for a kimura but Bronckhorsten is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bronckhorsten pushes Gamzatov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gamzatov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gamzatov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Gamzatov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bronckhorsten wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Gamzatov has hold of Bronckhorsten's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bronckhorsten tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gamzatov cranks the arm and Bronckhorsten screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bronckhorsten, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Gamzat Gamzatov!
Gamzat Gamzatov seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
