PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Kuchar (ranked 494 p4p, 61 weight class) and Synyx Dall (ranked 1982 p4p, 232 weight class). Kuchar comes into the arena with 21 Savage - No Heart blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Dall's choice of entrance music: In Scarlet Storm. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Kuchar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Synyx Dall!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dall uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kuchar.
Dall with the counter takedown but Kuchar avoids it easily.
Kuchar takes a swing at Dall's ribcage but misses.
Dall swings away with a body shot that misses
and Kuchar counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kuchar scores with a head kick. Dall tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Dall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kuchar.
Kuchar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dall.
Kuchar tries a low kick but Dall avoids it.
Kuchar looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kuchar avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dall misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kuchar throwing a counter right hand but Dall manages to avoid it.
Kuchar moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dall has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dall fails with a takedown attempt.
Dall throws a push kick but Kuchar slaps the foot to one side.
Kuchar throws a head kick but Dall moves out of range.

Kuchar misses the body punch

and Dall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kuchar's guard.

Kuchar is trying to push Dall off with his feet but Dall grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Kuchar's ankles and Kuchar is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!
