Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Beast!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A lazy left from Beast finds it's target.


It looks like Michael Sullivan has been cut.
Sullivan lands a lovely overhand right.
Beast checks a leg kick nicely.
Nice defenses there by Beast.
Sullivan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Beast circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sullivan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sullivan misses with a body shot.
Sullivan misses with a hook
and Sullivan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sullivan gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Beast.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sullivan misses with a series of wild punches.
Beast ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sullivan misses with a jab, cross combination.
A swing and a miss from Sullivan.
Beast shoots in but Sullivan avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sullivan looks to throw the jab but Beast is out of range.
Sullivan fails to land with a series of punches.

Sullivan gets caught napping as Beast dives in and scores a takedown. Sullivan manages to retain guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beast accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Beast is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Beast cracks Sullivan with a solid left hand.
Beast working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sullivan's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beast accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sullivan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Beast controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beast lands a couple of elbows.
Sullivan wants to stand and escape but Beast is having none of it.

Beast landing some decent shots from guard.
Beast has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Beast makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beast throwing strikes from guard but Sullivan blocks nicely.
Sullivan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Beast is controlling him.
Beast with a nice head shot there.
Beast postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sullivan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Beast's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Beast slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Beast scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sullivan to see if he's OK.

Beast is working to tighten his grip on Sullivan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sullivan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Beast is really squeezing tight and eventually Sullivan passes out! Beast breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Dave Beast!
An out of breath Dave Beast thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
